About Topicals

Topicals is an independent guide to what you put on your skin, written for Indian skin and Indian weather.

Why Topicals exists

Most skincare advice online is written for a different climate, different skin tones and products that are not sold here. We want useful answers for 85% humidity in Mumbai, a UV index of 10 in Jaipur and poor winter air in Delhi, on Indian skin, with products you can actually buy in India.

What we publish

  • Ingredient guides that explain what an active does, the strength worth buying and what to pair it with.
  • Product comparisons based on ingredient lists, formulas and prices, so you can choose for yourself.
  • Routines and quick fixes for common problems, written in plain language.
  • Free tools such as the Ingredient Clash Checker, the Skincare Routine Builder and live UV index and AQI by city.

What to expect

  • Plain-language explanations based on published research and official guidance.
  • Content written for Indian skin types, Indian weather and products sold in India.
  • Articles updated when formulas, prices or guidance change.
  • Brands cannot pay for coverage or a better position.
  • Everything on Topicals is for informational purposes only and is not medical advice. See our disclaimer.

How we make money

Some links on Topicals are affiliate links: if you buy through them, the shop may pay us a small commission at no extra cost to you. Some pages may show clearly labelled ads. Neither affects what we write. Read our affiliate disclosure and editorial policy.
