Frequently asked questions

How do I know my skin type at home?

The simplest way is the bare-face method: wash with a gentle cleanser, leave skin bare for an hour, then notice whether it feels tight (dry), shiny all over (oily), shiny only on the T-zone (combination) or comfortable (normal). This skin type test uses the same signs plus a few more questions.

Can my skin type change?

Yes. Skin often gets oilier in humid summers and drier in winter or air conditioning, and it changes with age and hormones. Retake the test when the season changes.

Is sensitive skin a separate skin type?

Sensitive skin describes how easily your skin reacts. It can be oily, dry or combination at the same time, so the test tells you if sensitivity shows up alongside your main type.

Which skin type is most common in India?

Combination and oily skin are very common in India because of heat and humidity in many cities, but every skin type is found here.

Is this skin test accurate?

It is a self-assessment based on common signs, not a medical examination. If you have persistent redness, acne or itching, see a dermatologist.
